Family Holidays

Malta is a lovely place to enjoy a family holiday. There are some wonderful towns and beaches to explore, and plenty of activities for adults and children of all ages. Malta has a great year round Mediterranean climate with lovely hot and dry summers and mild winters. With flying time just over 3 hours it is a convenient place to fly to and being a very small island you won’t be faced with long airport transfers to your hotel after your flight has landed. With English as the first language, it really is a great destination for a family holiday.

Depending on what type of holiday you are looking for, there is something for all tastes in Malta. The larger resorts of Bugibba and St Pauls Bay offer all the amenities and features that holidaymakers could hope for with plenty of activities to try and restaurants to enjoy. If you are looking to stay in amongst Malta’s rich history then a stay in the town of Valletta may be the perfect option. If you want to be somewhere quieter and more secluded, then a stay on the beautiful island of Gozo, just off the north coast of Malta may suit you perfectly.

Malta has a variety of beaches from long sandy beaches to smaller rocky coves that are great for snorkeling. Large beaches will often have cafes to get refreshments and sun beds and umbrellas will be available for you to rent. Some will also offer watersports such as windsurfing and jet skiing.

There are some great family attractions to enjoy in Malta. Younger children will love the Popeye Village theme park where they can meet the characters and enjoy boat rides and water trampolines. The Splash and Fun Water Park has something for all ages, with areas to sunbathe and relax, a designated children’s splash land and many exciting and thrilling rides for the more daring. Mediterraneo Marine Park is a fantastic attraction where children can learn more about marine life as well as enjoying some of the many attractions such as swimming with dolphins, watching sea lion presentations and visiting the reptile house.

There is a massive variety of accommodation options on Malta, from big hotel resorts with endless facilities, to traditional guest houses run by local Maltese families. There is also a great selection of farmhouses and villas that are perfect if you are looking for a bit more space and privacy on your family holiday. Visit the accommodation pages to see which would be best for your trip.

Whatever you fancy for your holiday, a trip to Malta will not leave you disappointed!
